#3D Modeling #quarantined

Adrien J.

Wow, I never thought the end of my school year would end like this. As you know, the coronavirus pandemic as caused schools to close. My school is one of the schools that are closed. If we still were in school right now in my digital arts class I would be working in Adobe 3ds Max. Since I am not at school I have been using a different software called clara.io. This software is similar to 3ds max in some ways and different in other ways. In the next paragraph I will go into a little detail on what I know about each software.

So to begin, I will first start off by saying that Clara Is an online software while Adobe 3Ds Max is a software you download. Overall both softwares have a similar user interface. Both have 4 viewports that can be alter, both have objects that you make with just a click, and both have tools that can alter you objects and sub object. As I mentioned before there are some differences between these to software. The biggest one I have come across is the tools associated with sub-objects. In Adobe 3Ds Max if you were to apply an extrude or bevel you could alter them by simply using you mouse however in Clara the only way to alter such edits is to go to the edits tab and manually put in the new measurements you want for you bevel or extrude. Another difference I have noticed between Clara and 3Ds Max is modifiers. In Adobe 3Ds Max you can apply modifiers to you objects however in Clara you cannot. I can see how this can be a problem but for me so far it has not been. I do think that it will become a problem however, because our next assignment is titled working with modifiers. Other than that Adobe 3ds Max and Clara are not that much different. There might be a difference every now and then but it nothing that you can’t solve just by applying what you know already from tutorials.
