Over the past few weeks, I have been working on the basics of Photoshop. I must say that my experience in Photoshop has been difficult, yet exciting. I have had quite of few frustrations with understanding the tool in Photoshop. The very first time I used Photoshop I had trouble with resetting my essentials, using quick mask, and using the paintbrush. I eventually took care of the paint brush and essentials problem however, I did struggle with quick mask for the duration of the "Layering a Sandwich" project. The problem I was having was I could not remember all the steps to getting rid of parts of your image using the non-destructive method. Once I fully memorized the steps to this process Photoshop became a lot easier to use for me. Although I had some frustrating moments in Photoshop I did do well in some parts of Photoshop. For example, when working on out "Andy Warhol" project I was able to create an almost perfect outline for my football player. I also managed to pick out colors that went well with my artwork. Overall my experience with Photoshop has been challenging, however, I have learned a lot and I am having fun. Photoshop is a great software and it has quite a few handy tools for photo editing. It surprises me how many elements Photoshop has, and I have only scratched the surface! I only have two concerns about Photoshop. It takes way to long to load and get started and there are a lot of shortcuts that don't make sense to me. Besides those two concerns, I love Photoshop and look forward to using it in the future.
