So not much has been going on these past couple of weeks. We have started a new topic but I will wait till next week to talk about that. Instead today I will reflect over my Halfway There project which can be found in the selected works page. So as you all know we are in a pandemic and we have all experienced change whether it be for better or for worse. So the goal of this project was to created some digital representation of how we change over the course of this pandemic. My original idea was to have a timeline, in which the viewer would actually go through kind of like a roller coaster. For every big moment that had happen during the pandemic the camera would stop, pause, and focus on the object that I chose to represent that moment. An example would be me winning a track meet would be represent by a gold medal. Well as cool as that plan sounded I didn't have the knowledge or time to execute, so I improvised. I still wanted to do a 3d model tied in with the animation and after a few moment of thinking I cam up with a solution. Now before I describe my project I suggest you go check it out in the selected works page. Anyways my final project was a video that started off looking at my school and slowly panned out till the point where I was looking a the same school through a computer screen. The project overall was pretty cool, there are only a few things I would change. Number one being I would increase the quality, which would make a longer render time but smoother animation. Another thing I would do is include more detail specifically to the front of the school so that a viewer can easy recognize that it is a school. Other than that I think I did a amazing job and it is one of my favorite projects.
