So Christmas of 2020 I got a few PlayStation gift cards. I used these cards to buy a game I have been wanting for quite some time now. This game is called Star Wars Fallen Order. Now in this blog post, I will not be reviewing the game because I have yet to finish. I will be pointing out some elements I noticed just from playing a few levels. I will probably give a detailed review once I finish the game, but for now here is what I got.
I will start of by saying, in the star wars universe, this game takes places after clone betrayal. If you don't what I mean by that, I suggest you watch star war.(Trust me, you wont regret it!) Anyways on the first level you are in a ship junkyard. You are playing as a Jedi in hiding. The first thing I noticed when playing this game was that it was in third person. The interesting thing about third person, is that you got to see the character movements, which were extremely realistic. A side not to this is that I believe the animators mimicked the movement of a person in real life, which I find to be extremely fascinating. Moving on, for the first level the were a bunch of twist and turns which was crazy. What caught my attention the most was the amount of detail the environment had. Now I have a long ways to go before I am on a professional level, but I do believe some of the stuff in the game I could recreate. For an example, there was a highly detailed Jedi starfighter, which I could totally model in 3ds max. I might not be able to get the material but I could most definitely have a similar shape. Another thing I noticed in the game was the level of freedom. There was certain objective you were trying to complete, however outside of that there was so much more to explore. In fact, there were quite a few time I got lost in the map trying to find my way to an objective. The main thing I want to emphasize in this game is the level of detail in the animation and modeling. I can't give advice on the gameplay just yet, but if you are a star wars fan, I high suggest you get this game.
