The Final Freshman Reflection

So this year in my DDA class I have done a lot. So since I near the end of my freshman year, I have decided to do one final reflection giving my favorite topic, my least favorite topic, and my hardest topic. To begin let me first start off by saying this reflection was hard to do. I loved all the topics so much it was hard to pick and choose my favorite. Although it was hard, I have to say 3D modeling is my favorite. There are 2 main reasons for this decision. The first reason is that I got to do this unit at home so there was no time limit meaning there was no limit to the amount of work I could put into assignments. The second reason for this topic being my favorite is that it is brand new to me. All the other topics I have either heard, seen or even tried to do, however 3D modeling is something I haven’t heard until I had this class. Those 2 reasons are literally the only reasons why 3D modeling is my favorite. My least favorite topic was also hard to decide. In the end I chose video editing as my least favorite. It is not that I didn't like the subject, I just wanted more from it. We were in a transition phase while in video editing. Because of this we were not given the full experience as I would have liked.

The last and final reflection I am making is the hardest subject. This one is split between 2 subjects. The hardest subject I think were in this class was animation and 3D modeling. Animation was not really hard but it was long and you really have to consider every little moving piece. My wizard animation, a 20 second clip to 3 weeks. A long time for such a small animation. I really do appreciate animators a lot more now. Now the reason why I say 3D modeling is hard is because I am using a different software than what we would be using if still in class. Since I have to use a different software I have to do a little research sometimes to get an answer. This is one of the downsides to online learning. Anyways, this year has been a blast in DDA and there has been lots to learn. I hope that next year is just exciting and challenging.
